In this painting, it explores uncertainty and its effects on our happiness. With the use of mixing burnt Sienna, ultramarine blue & titanium white, I created a neutral grey to represent the depressed cloudy sky, whereas the grass & central subject has a bit less saturation to convey the mood. The feeling I wanted out of this piece is validation, by seeing within ourselves on how we react to when we feel directionless in our life. The sunflower placed on the subject’s head is meant to symbolize our strength and hope, but the petals falling off shows how each day we are slowly giving up and losing our balance.
