This painting focuses on the nature of belonging and how fitting in positively and even negatively impacts our self-esteem. The reds, oranges, and yellows were used to represent a specific group, and the blues & purples is another group. The painting visually shows more warmth colors than cool colors, which symbolizes that the tone of this nature is more warmth dominant than cool. This piece evokes on how we are desperate to feel chosen by a superior individual or group in order to feel great about ourselves; however, we may simultaneously lose on who we truly are as normal human beings. As somebody who feels like they do not fit in, this artwork was meant to express that we’re all born the same way in this planet, and that there’s a lot of people on earth that loves you for whoever you are and would love to welcome you in their life.
