Do you ever feel like dancing can be so emotive and powerful? Well, I do. This is expressive dancing. The way I wanted the painting to look is to have this painting have a contrast between the subject and the background, by painting a spotlight on the central subject to emphasize its presence.

The meaning with this artwork is my imaginative mind of how I picture expressing our emotions. Developing the look of this painting was that I view Edgar Dega's ballet paintings as my inspired mood board. The way his dancers' show the type of motion they put in their dance, made me realize the emotional impact that dance can have.
